Albany, NH - Duncan H. Butt, age 72, of Albany, N.H., former longtime resident of Amesbury, passed peacefully at his home on Friday, November 8, 2019. He was the beloved husband of 40 years to Diane M. (Newcomb) Butt.

Born in Newburyport, September 29, 1947, he was the son of the late Wallace W. "Woody" and Eunice J. (Tuxbury) Butt and was a graduate of Amesbury High School, class of 1966.

Duncan proudly served with the United States Army Reserves for a six-year term. He was retired from Brazonics, Inc., in Hampton, N.H., manufacturers of heat exchangers for both military and commercial use.

After his retirement Duncan and Diane moved to Albany, N.H., five years ago to enjoy the beauty and peaceful surroundings of the White Mountains.

In addition to his wife Diane, he is survived by his daughter Melinda Russo and husband John of Middleton, Mass.; his son, Christopher Butt of Edmond, Okla.; his grandchildren, Rachel Maus, David Maus and fiancée Mariah Stott of Middleton, Mass., Jeffrey Maus, U.S. Air Force, Aidan Reese, Edmond, Okla.; his brother, Wallace W. "Chip" Butt Jr. and wife Phyllis of South Hampton, N.H., along with his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, several nieces and nephews, cousins, many dear friends, and last but not least, his two beloved cats and his predeceased cat, Kimba. He will be truly missed by them all, but his life's memories will continue to hold a very special place in their hearts forever.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, November 22, 2019, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, with a memorial service at the funeral home on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at 11 a.m. Burial will be private for the family.
