Rowley - Rowley - Dorothy (Landry) Seaberg, age 71, of Rowley, was born in Lynn to the late Evelyn (Crompton) Landry and Donald Landry. Dot/Dottie was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend to many, as well as a highly esteemed work colleague.
Dot attended Lynn Public Schools, and graduated from Lynn English High School, Class of 1971. Her first employment was as a secretary at Lynn Hospital in the labor and delivery/nursery unit, a job she spoke of fondly. As a young mother in the 70s and 80s, Dot devoted herself to the care of her children, and acted as their first teacher in life, introducing them to books, music and art. She also worked and volunteered in Georgetown Public Schools, where her children attended elementary school. After being employed for many years at the telephone company (Bell Atlantic/Nynex/Verizon), her passions led her to study floral design and become an entrepreneur. She opened Daybreak Floral Design where she delighted in working with brides to make beautiful wedding arrangements for their special day. Before her passing, Dot worked for 17 years for Harvey Tool in Rowley, where she was a treasured employee and friend.
Throughout her life, Dot cherished time with family and friends, baking with children she loved, and visiting shops in Newburyport and Rockport. She loved cooking for her loved ones, gardening, singing, listening to music, doting on her pets and reading, often carrying the latest Stephen King book in her purse. A lifelong artist, she enjoyed taking art classes, drawing, working with pastels, watercolor painting and calligraphy. The daughter of a seamstress, Dot was also gifted in sewing, crochet and needlepoint, and was often working on a baby blanket for someone, as she had a talent for making things beautiful.
She is survived by her children, April (Seaberg) Nelson and her husband Mike of Beverly, Patrick Seaberg and his spouse Kaitlyn Gobiel of Salem, and Sean Seaberg and his wife Julia of Haverhill. She also leaves her grandchildren, Lilian, Finn, Amelia, Jasper, Clementine, and Sophie, her sister, Donna Grant, and many nieces, nephews, and sisters/brothers-in-law.
Besides her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her sisters Lorraine Fortin and Delores Whitehead, and her brother, Alfred Arsenault.
