Newburyport - Newburyport - Dorothy passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025.

She was born on May 9, 1931 to John and Ethel (Dunn) Fournier in Newburyport MA. Dotty was a lifelong resident of Newburyport and longtime employee of Chase and Shawmut manufacturing. She retired with husband Bill of 75 years to travel play golf and enjoy winters at their home in Florida. She also looked forward to all her class of 1949 reunions.

She leaves behind three children, Michael (Janice), Robert (Jody), and Gail (Douglas) Packer. four grandchildren, Michael Packer, Tracey, Robert W. and Samantha Desmond. four great-grandchildren, Ryen, Finley, Gennes Packer and Jayden Locke. Also sisters Kathleen Gagne, Carol Chruniak and sister in law June Nichols as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband, William, her parents and siblings, John, Robert Fournier and Colleen Smith.

Family and friends are invited to Dorothy's graveside service at 10 a.m. on July 8, 2025 at St. Mary's Cemetery in Newburyport. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St., Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Mrs. Desmond's family with her arrangements.
