Myrtle Beach - David A. Hume passed away unexpectedly on November 23, 2025, in Myrtle Beach, SC at the age of 79. David was pre deceased by his loving wife of 53 years, Starr (Paine) Hume. David is survived by his son, Kraig Hume and wife Tammy of Exeter, NH, daughter Erin Daniels and her husband Bruce of Salisbury, MA., his grandchildren Dana MacLeod, Zachary Daniels, Michaela Hume, Mackenzie Hume, Jacob Daniels, Nicholas Daniels, Sadie Shepard & husband Tyler, Austin Donohue, Hannah Donohue, Michael Donohue, Bella Pelletier and her husband Jake, Riley Beem and her husband Eli, Keagan Donohue, and KP Donohue. Great grandchildren Elliana Donohue, Malcolm Pelletier and Miles Pelletier.

David was the 2nd oldest of 8 siblings. He is survived by his sister Carol Paul of Newton, NH., sister Vicki Webb of Rye, NH., sister Bonni Kitchin and her husband Pudgy of Amesbury, MA, brother Mark Hume and his wife Karen of Newbury, MA., sister Michelle Lewis and her husband John of Media, PA., sister Julie Deschenes and her husband Marc of Amesbury, MA., sister Joellen Pelletier and her husband John of Alton, NH. as well as so many much loved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. David was a true family man and loved his entire extremely large family with his whole heart.

David was born on November 26, 1945 in Portland, ME to George and Betty Hume. David graduated from Haverhill Trade School in 1963. He then served in the Navy for 4 years. In August of 1968 he married the love of his life, Starr. They started out in Amesbury and later settled in Merrimac, MA to raise their family. He worked as a draftsman for 30 years for Henschel Corp. and then at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard where he retired. After retirement, he and Starr relocated to Myrtle Beach, SC. David loved to play golf and spend

time with family and friends. He was an amazing husband, father, brother and friend. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday May 16th from 2pm-6pm at the Elks of Newburyport 25 Low St. Newburyport, MA 01950 for all who wish to attend
