Haverhill - Haverhill - Daniel S Bailey III sadly passed away on July 17, 2025 at the age of 75 at his home in Haverhill, MA. Born on September 26, 1949 in Amesbury, MA, he was the son of the late Daniel S Bailey Sr. and Margaret (Hodge) Bailey.

Dan, aka "Big Papi", was more than just fun, he was the life of the party. He led with a swagger and a smile that brought joy into every room. He was a comforting presence with a generous heart who truly loved life and lived it to the fullest.

Dan was an avid golfer and enjoyed his weekly outings with his buddies. He had a lifetime passion for sports and played Basketball throughout college at Lowell Tech(now UMass-Lowell). Following college he continued with his love of basketball as a referee for decades. He worked as a salesman for many years, until he finally found his passion as an entrepreneur.

His love (and frustration) for New England sports teams was a running joke. If the Celtics were playing, he was watching and yelling as if he was a Coach on the sidelines.

However, his love of sports was especially evident as he watched his grandchildren excel at basketball, baseball and golf. They were his pride and joy, and he had no better era than his 16 years of being "Papi".

He leaves behind his wife Tammy Bailey, his daughter Lisa Bailey McCray and husband Brian of Smyrna Ga, his son Mark Bailey and wife Jessica of Newburyport, Ma. His stepdaughters Alyssa Strong & husband Nick of Lee, NH , Danielle Grieco & fiancé Jesse Roy of Merrimac, Ma. His grandchildren who were his pride & joy: Ava, Caiden, Aiden and Colin.

He also leaves behind his brother Robert Bailey, his wife Debbi, his nephew Jay Bailey and wife Jill, and his beloved dog Baylee Bailey.

Dan loved a good party and to be surrounded by all whom he loved. Please join us for a "Celebration of Life" which will take place at Sylvan Street Grill in Salisbury, Ma on Saturday, July 26th from 1-5pm. Please arrive prepared to smile, laugh, and cry as we Celebrate a life well-lived.
