Kingston - Cynthia Joy Sawyer — fondly known as "Cyndi" — age 65, passed away unexpectedly on November 10, 2025, at her home in Kingston, NH. She was born on June 3, 1960, in Newburyport, MA, daughter of the late Ernest Russell Hill and Wanda (Deorocki) Hill.
Cyndi grew up in Newburyport and was a proud graduate of Newburyport High School, Class of 1978. An only child, she cherished her close-knit extended family and the lifelong friendships she made growing up. She later earned her bachelor's degree from New Hampshire College (now Southern New Hampshire University).
While living in Massachusetts, Cyndi met the love of her life, Mark D. Sawyer, who was serving in the military and stationed at Pease Air Force Base. The two were married in 1989 and soon after settled in Kingston, NH, where they built a loving home and raised their two children.
Professionally, Cyndi worked for more than 40 years as a computer analyst at Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill, MA. She was known for her dedication, skill, and the pride she took in her work.
Cyndi's greatest joy came from her family. She loved spending time with Mark and their children, Benjamin and Kaitlyn, Calvin her Springer Spaniel, and was devoted to her home and the life they shared. She was also a lifelong dog lover, especially fond of the English Springer Spaniel breed, and she found happiness in the companionship of her pets over the years. Cyndi had a creative and playful side she was an avid Lego enthusiast, always working on new builds and adding to her collection. In her earlier years, before health challenges arose, she and Mark enjoyed traveling together, with fond memories of adventures across the country and special trips to New Orleans, Bermuda, Alaska, Florida, and many of the National Parks.
Cyndi is survived by her loving husband, Mark Sawyer; her son, Benjamin Sawyer; her daughter, Kaitlyn Sawyer; her Uncle Chet Deorocki; and several beloved cousins including Kathy and Stephen Sweeney, Sandy and James Denman, Steve and Marie Deorocki, and Rosie and Ben Klaus.
