Charles Stetson Harding Obituary

Charles Stetson Harding, age 89, of Brooksby Village Peabody formally of Hamilton, died peacefully on December 22, 2016. Charles was married to the late Jacqueline Oakes-Harding of Hamilton.

Surviving family members, former wife; Anne Sullivan of Madison Ala., children, Linda Harding, Miriam H. Ezell (Tim Ezell), Elizabeth H. Wiltshire (Jeffrey Wiltshire), and John Harding (Sabrina Harding); grandchildren, Christopher, Caitlin and Kimberly Wiltshire; stepchildren, Brett Oakes and Brenda Oakes Ernst; step grandchildren, Leo Oakes, Hans, Henrik, and Heidi Ernst; and his sister, Suzanne Seguine of Spring Hill, Fla.

He was a WWII veteran, a landscape architect in Monmouth County, NJ, a Physical Plant Director at Gardner-Webb University, Boiling Springs, N.C. and Gordon College, Wenham Mass. In later years, he worked at the Peabody Essex Museum. Charles volunteered in organizations such as Habitat for Humanity North Shore and on the Hope Community Church, Newburyport “Green Team.” His life's mission was to "Keep America Beautiful."

His family is deeply grateful of the love and care he received from the staff at the Brooksby Village memory care unit.

A celebration of his life is planned for February, details TBA.
