Rowley, Massachusetts - Charlie T. Gwinn passed away on November 8, 2019, peacefully after a long illness. He was born in Ipswich, 1934, to his late parents Lawrence and Lois Gwinn. He had two brothers Robert and Richard, both deceased. He also had three sisters, Louise and Leha both deceased. He is survived by his sister Lucille, currently living in New Hampshire. He leaves many nieces and nephews. Charlie is married to Marilyn and they have lived in Rowley for 64 years. They have two children, Christopher and his wife Bernadette, and a daughter Maryjane and her husband Kurt Weltler, and their two children, Megan and Nicolas. Charlie built his business, Agawam Service Center, Inc., in Rowley, in 1969. The business will be 50 years old the coming year. He turned his business over to his son in 1998. Charlie loved boating and fishing and watching the Bruins and had a great time chatting with Johnny Bucyk when he came in the shop for lawn mower repairs. Charlie was a member of the John T. Heard Masonic Lodge for 35 years. He also worked with the Boy Scouts in Rowley. He also was on the Rowley Board of Appeals and Water Board.
Charlie will be buried in the Rowley Cemetery in the coming spring, at that time there will be a memorial to Charles with family and friends. The family respectfully requests in lieu of flowers, donations to be made to the Rowley Council on Aging.
