American Canyon, CA - Cathy Ann Rose (Jarvis, Descheneaux) Wieder closed her eyes for the final time at home on October 25, 2019. She was one of the most compassionate, generous and kindest women ever to walk the earth. Cathy was a role model who exhibited courage and grace in the face of multiple sclerosis, neurodendocrine cancer and leiomyosarcoma.
She was a multi-talented paper artist, musician and avid gardener. She was born January 6, 1955 in Worcester, Mass. graduated from Shrewsbury High School, attended Worcester State College, Worcester Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing, Anna Maria College, and Rivier University in New Hampshire. She studied nursing and forensic sciences. She was employed as a nurse, nursing supervisor, educator and assistant medical examiner/forensic investigator in New Hampshire. She lived in Nashua, NH; Newburyport, and finally settled in American Canyon, CA with husband Steve Wieder.
She was a member of Congregation Beth Shalom in Napa, CA where she attended Torah Study and was a member of Mitzvah Mavens and Soul Sisters Book Group.
She is survived by her beloved husband Stephen; her son and daughter-in-law Jacob and Bridget Descheneaux of Hampton, NH; son Santos Descheneaux of Manchester, N.H.; step-son, Daniel Wieder of Seattle, WA; brother and sister-in-law, Jeffrey and Donna Jarvis of Lancaster, MA; sister and brother-in-law Marcia and Loren Tschohn of North Carolina; adopted sister Deborah Moya of Nashua, NH; and mother and step-father Marianne and Charles Kittredge of Westborough. She also leaves behind her precious Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Katie and Sunshine.
A memorial service will be held at Congregation Beth Shalom, 1455 Elm St, Napa, CA 94559. Her cremated remains are to be spread among the wildflowers and butterflies under the trees in Marin County, Calif.
