Ipswich - Carole M. Marvin, 89, of Clipper Way, Newburyport, and formerly a longtime resident of Ipswich, died Thursday, February 2, 2023, in her home. She was the wife of sixty years to the late Stephen G. Marvin.

Carole was born in Ipswich on July 23, 1933, one of four children of the late Earl H. and Lucy E. (Leet) Homans. She was raised in Ipswich, a 1951 graduate of Ipswich public schools. Married in 1953 she and Steve soon made their home and raised their family on Farley Avenue and more recently Belle Street in Ipswich. In addition to raising her family Carole had been employed throughout many of these years as a bookkeeper for McCormick Welding and Bentley Warren Trucking, both of Ipswich.

She enjoyed spending time with her loving family, the Monday and Wednesday Bowling League, her years of Tai Chi classes, and golfing with her husband Steve.

She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church of Ipswich.

Carole is survived by three daughters, Diane J. Hogan and her husband Charles of Springhill, FL, Debbie J. Foote and her husband Greg of Naples, FL, Lori J. Kelley and her husband John of Newburyport. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Daniel Hogan and his wife Kathleen of MD, Christopher Hogan and his wife Pam of CT, Edward Dudek and his wife Denise of Ipswich, Stephen Kelley of Newburyport, Colleen Kelley and her fiancé Alex Pereos of Denver, Jessica Dudek Wright and her husband Graham of Newburyport; three great-grandchildren, Emilia, Charlotte and Nolan, and a brother, Maynard E. Homans and his wife Dorothy of NH. She was the sister of the late Janice E. Hood formerly of NH and the late Peggy Homans formerly of Ipswich.

Her funeral service will be held at a later date to be announced, graveside in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, Town Farm Road, Ipswich. Family and friends will be respectfully welcomed.
