Kittery - It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Carol Ann (Macdonald) Mycko , 71, of Kittery, Maine, who passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, with her family by her side.


She is survived by her significant other, Zach Longley; her son, Adam and his wife Jodie, and their son Evan; and her son Chris and his wife Michelle, and their children, Owen, Aiden, and Isabella. She is also survived by her sister, Joan Kieran, and her husband Bob, of Venice, FL, and their daughters Andrea and her husband Tom McAvoy, sons Jason and Jimmy of Virginia. Jennifer and her husband Dan Joseph and children Ellie and Kyle of Falmouth, ME and Amy Kieran of Lewiston, ME. Nephew Alex Macdonald of Baltimore MD. She is also survived by members of the Parker family through marriage of Carol's late mother Helen and her husband Stanley Currier of Lebanon, NH. Carol was predeceased by her parents, her brother Ron, her sister Pat, and her ex-husband, Steve Mycko.


Born in Niagara Falls, New York, to the late Helen Jean Mann and Gerald Keillor Macdonald, Carol grew up in Brunswick, Maine, and Lebanon, New Hampshire. A graduate of Plymouth State College, she dedicated many years to teaching in New Hampshire and Massachusetts while raising her two sons.


Carol deeply enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren, and those moments were very special to her. She had a true love for cooking and found great joy in entertaining her family and friends.

Carol had a passion for designing and decorating homes, including her properties in West Newbury, MA; South Hampton, New Hampshire; and her current home in Kittery. She cherished her summers spent with Zach on Sheep Island in Cundy's Harbor and boating in the Maine waters with family and friends. She also loved traveling and escaping the northern winters for time in warmer climates!


She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever be held close by her family and friends.

The family will host a Celebration of Life in Carol's honor at Michael's Harborside Newburyport, MA on March 14, 2026 12-3 pm. Arrangements by Remick & Gendron Funeral Home - Crematory, Hampton, NH. To share a memory or offer a condolence visit RemickGendron.com.
