Salen - Salen - CAROL BOYD, 78, a resident of Salem NH. died on July 19, 2025 at the Kaplan Hospice House, only one week after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. She was born on Feb 6, 1947 to the late Walter & Florence Hewlett.

Carol attended school in Lawrence and continued on to Fazio's Hair Dressing School. In 1975 she married Ronald "Skip" Boyd, together they raised 4 children, Elizabeth, Ronnie, Rhonda & Lisa.

Carol and her husband of 46 years, were employed for many years at the Captains Quarters Restaurant in Newburyport, where they met and became very dear friends and partners with owners Bud and Moira Manley. Carol quickly became the mainstay of the business. She will always be remembered for her extreme dedication and talent along with her wonderful sense of humor. She was always fun to be around and to work with. Upon the sales of the Captains Quarters, Carol continued her employment at the Newburyport 5 cents savings bank until her retirement several years later.

Carol enjoyed traveling cross country with her husband where they discovered their love for Texas. They settled down in Del Rio, on Lake Amistad where they spent the next 25 years, before she returned to Massachusite in 2022 to be with her family. It was here that Carol discovered her true love and passion for ferral cats.

Carol is survived by her daughters, Rhonda and her husband Jeff Szenftner of Salisbury MA, Lisa and her husband Michael Alder of Gilmanton Ironworks NH, Elizabeth and her husband Arthur Silva of Wakefield MA; her sister, Gail Fox of Hampton NH; her bothers, Richard, Phillip, Walter and James; grandchildren, Andrew Silva, Daniel Silva and his wife Kerry & Amanda and her husband Brandon Toste, Jayson Davis and his girlfriend Cassie, Kaila lister, Teagan Davis and her husband Ryan Souliotis and Christopher Boyd; great grandchildren, Kylie, Mackenzie, Lucy, Ryker, Ridge, Aubrey, Aria, Leo & Francesca, and many nieces and nephews. Of course let's not forget her beloved cat Isabella. She was preceded in death by her husband Skip, her parents Walter and Florence, her sister Ann Swasey, her sister Jayne Ercolini, her step son Ronald, half brother Billy, her half sisters Joann and Shirley.

Family and friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday July 25, 2025 at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. Carol's services and burial will be private.
