Naples - Naples - Candace Catherine Child, aka "Candi", age 72, of Naples, FL and Newbury, MA, died June 9, 2025 at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, MA after a long illness. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank "Skip" Kelley, Jr.

Born in Lowell, MA on April 22, 1953, Candi was the only child of the late Ernest X. and Gladys M. (Menzies) Child. After graduating Andover High's Class of 1970 followed by a Bachelor's Degree from Boston University in 1974 she then completed a Master's in Education. Her joyful love of children and teaching kept her loyal to Lawrence's schools in many capacities such as ESL teacher, Vice Principal at the Bruce School, and the Migrant Program.

Her lifelong passion was gardening, her yards were perfectly groomed, and the Newbury MA and Naples FL garden clubs kept her challenged. She also loved cycling, running, tennis, pickle ball, swimming or just relaxing at the beach. Later in life it was all about golf. And more golf.

Candi and Skip's large family includes Kathrine Lawson and her husband Graham of Byfield; Frank N. "Budd" Kelley, III and his wife, Stephanie of Byfield; Keith A. Kelley and his wife Margaret of Canterbury, NH; six grandchildren, Ryan, Justin, Katelyn, Alyssa, Brendan and Eamon and several nieces and nephews.

Candi was generous with friendships and maintained a vast network. You...we...are too numerous to mention by name but collectively bid her a loving farewell.

We also extend heartfelt gratitude to Candi's loyal caregivers, Rose and Nonni, who protected and comforted her 'round the clock in her own home with tenderness, skill, and prayers. She was never alone.

Visiting hours are Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green Street, Newburyport and the memorial service will immediately follow in the same location. Do plan ahead by having directions handy to Evergreen Cemetery, Newbury, MA for a brief graveside blessing as we leave her in peace forever with Skip.
