Bernice I. (Ingerson) Faro Obituary
Merrimac - Bernice I. (Ingerson) Faro, age 100, former resident of Merrimac, passed peacefully at Advinia Care of Newburyport, MA, on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph Faro, John Kenney and James Powers.
Born in Lisbon New Hampshire, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Grace (Bedell) Ingerson, and had attended Lisbon schools.
Bernice had worked in shoe shops, at Western Electric, clothing stores and also ran small restaurants, and she loved doing all these various jobs. She was also a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
She leaves behind a legacy of wonderful memories to be treasured forever by her children, James Powers, Mary Booth and husband Richard, and Paul Powers and wife Debbie; a sister, Alice "Joe" Ingerson; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, as well as several generations of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her son, John Powers.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 from 5 to 7 P.M. at Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 36 West Main Street, Merrimac. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 11 A.M. at the Ridgewood Cemetery, 177 Salem Street, North Andover, MA, where Bernice will be laid to eternal rest along with her son, John Powers.
