East Kingston - East Kingston - Barbara M. Metcalf (née Krafton) left this world better than she found it. Those who had the privilege of knowing her saw the positive impacts she made in her work, friendships, and family. A lifetime devout Catholic, her lord Jesus Christ called her home on November 17, 2023 after a short illness. Her passing fell on the birthday of her beloved late husband, Ronald W. Metcalf. Barbara and Ronald now have eternity in which to celebrate the grace of God, together again forever. Barbara grew up in Amesbury, MA, one of seven tight-knit children of Joseph and Isabelle Krafton; born on Christmas Day, 1945, she is remembered for her kind, compassionate, and generous spirit. After a career in public service, she spent retirement volunteering with St. Vincent de Paul in Plaistow, NH, reading history, and traveling. Family and friends meant more to her than anything. She is survived by her brothers, sisters, children, and grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be Friday, Dec. 1, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Mary Mother of the Church, St. Luke the Evangelist Parish, 12 Amesbury Rd. Newton, NH 03858.
