B. William Walker Obituary
B. William Walker, age 93 years, originally of Beverly and recently of Amesbury, died Wednesday at the Masconomet Healthcare Center in Topsfield, after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late A. Mary Walker with whom he shared 59 years of marriage.
Born in Lowell, he was the son of the late Bennett and Lillian (Burke) Walker. He was educated in Medford and graduated from Medford High School. He also attended Northeastern University. Bill was employed at General Electric for 42 years in various departments, retiring from Support Equipment Engineering. After retiring he was a crossing guard in Beverly for over 20 years, and volunteered at the Beverly Hospital Chaplin’s Office for over 10 years. He loved dogs, boating, fixing things and was an avid reader. Bill was an active member of the Masonic fraternity for over 60 years. He was a lifetime member of Golden Fleece Lodge in Lynn, a longtime member of Liberty Lodge in Beverly, and an honorary member of Daylight Lodge of Beverly.
He is survived by two loving daughters, Gale and her husband, John Lyman of Amesbury, BonnieJean and her husband, Jim Butler of Tyngsboro, and grand dogs, Arie, Lilly and Nia.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Parker Funeral Home, 35 Franklin St., Lynn, to which relatives and friend are invited to attend. Masonic Services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Please make memorial donations in Bill’s name to Cape Ann Animal Rescue League (where he adopted his loving beagle Marie) 4 Paws Lane, Gloucester MA 01930.
