Ipswich - Anne E. (Peckham) Flynn, 92, wife of the late Peter Flynn of 35 years, passed away of natural causes in the Seaview Retreat in Rowley on April 11, 2020.

Anne was born in Melrose on March 17, 1928, the daughter of the late Wentworth and Evelyn (Crowell) Peckham. She was a 1945 graduate of Classical High School in Springfield, a 1947 graduate of Westbrook Junior College in Portland, ME, and a 1950 graduate of Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Following her marriage she made her homes in Massachusetts, California, Luxembourg and Connecticut, eventually settling in Ipswich where she lived for over 40 years. She had deep family roots in Nova Scotia and dearly loved her returning visits.

Anne taught French for 15 years while in CT and CA. and worked for ten or more years as an office manager for Flynn & Reynold Agency in Ipswich.

She will be remembered for having a warm and welcoming heart and for mentoring many people over the years. She had a knack for putting people at ease and started a support group in Ipswich where she made an impact on many lives over these years.

Anne is survived by three loving daughters, Nancy "Wenty" Hill of Bellingham, WA, Barbara Checksfield and her husband, Tom of Canton, CT and Mary Mattern and her husband Doug of Sandown, NH. She is also survived by her two cherished grandchildren, Chris Checksfield of Wrentham and Molly Checksfield Dorries and her husband, Joshua of Dallas, TX and two great-grandchildren, Henry and Ethan Checksfield both of Wrentham. In addition to her late husband Peter Flynn she was predeceased by a former husband of 24 years, Walter Hill.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Seaview Retreat Skilled Nursing facility in Rowley for the wonderful care they'd given Anne.

Her funeral service will be held Saturday, October 16 at 9:30 a.m. graveside in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, Town Farm Road, Ipswich followed by a service at 10:30 a.m. in the Ascension Memorial Church, 31 County Street, Ipswich. Family and friends are cordially welcomed and all are kindly asked to wear facial masks in the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home of Ipswich.
