Yuuko (Takamatsu)'s Story
Yuuko (Takamatsu) Acox Motley, 71, of South Hampton, N.H., died Sunday, April 15, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family.
Born in Tokyo, Japan on August 14,1945, she was one of seven children of the late Kingro and Misako Takamatsu. Yuuko was the beloved wife of the late Gordon “Doug” Motley.
Yuuko was a third shift supervisor at Malden Mills of Haverhill, Mass. She later filled her dreams of becoming a cosmetologist and opened her own salon.
She had a passion for dance and gardening. She and her husband of 36 years, Doug, enjoyed traveling via luxurious cruise lines.
Yuuko is survived by her two children, her daughter, Misa Acox of Nashville, Tenn., and her son, Bruce Acox and wife, Cheryl Lamprey of Raymond, N.H.; three step-daughters, Deborah Sullivan and husband, Ralph, Donna Whipple and husband, Everett of No. Andover, Mass., and Karen Motley of Cambridge, Mass.; three grandchildren, Savannah Acox, Eli Culley and Rebecca Culley; and two step-grandchildren, Katherine Whipple and Jennifer Whipple; along with so very many dear friends. She will be greatly missed and is adoringly loved.
Visiting hours at the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury will be held Thursday, April 20, 2017, from 3 to 5 p.m., immediately followed by memorial services at the funeral home. Burial will be private for the family.
