William C.'s Story
William C. Morse, 85, of Durham, N.H., formerly of Newburyport, Mass., died peacefully after a long battle with Parkinson's disease at Brookdale-Spruce Wood Senior Living Community on March 21, 2017.
Bill was born December 15,1931 in Newburyport, Mass., son of the late Arthur Morse and Ruth (Squire) Morse.
He loved tending to the flowers at his home of 41 years in Newbury, and working on Mercedes Diesels. He worked as a mechanical engineer at Western Electric and later for Bell Laboratories in Andover, Mass. where he developed tools and communication equipment of which he has four patents. He was fortunate enough to retire at 55 years of age, and enjoyed 30 years of retirement, spending every moment of that with his wife of 64 years.
He is survived by his wife, Janet H. (Milner) Morse whom he married May 17,1952; son, Peter E. Morse of Green Bay, Wisconsin and his wife, Patricia; daughter, Linda S. (Morse) Wilking of Brentwood, N.H., and her husband, Eric; three grandchildren, Christopher S. Wilking of Laconia; William W Morse and Emma J. Morse of Greenland; and one great-grandchild, Brecken C. Wilking.
A celebration of life will be held at Brookdale-Sprucewood, 25 Worthen Rd., Durham NH 03833, April 2, 2017 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Great Room.
Graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery Newburyport, May 21,2017 at 1 p.m.
