Sherrie (Merrill)'s Story
Sherrie (Merrill) Davey, of Amesbury, passed peacefully 5 days before her 70th birthday, at her home in Amesbury on Christmas morning.
One of three children of the late Raymond and Margaret (Golden) Merrill, she was born in Haverhill on December 30, 1946 and was a graduate of Amesbury High School.
By profession Sherrie was a restaurant manager, but her heart belonged to her children and her precious grandchildren. She had diverse interests and liked nothing more than sharing them with her family. From her love of sewing, to all kinds of crafts including quilting and making stuffed animals, to flying kites at the beach, bird watching and going for car rides, she was happiest when being with and doing things with her family, especially with her grandchildren who were her pride and joy.
Sherrie leaves behind wonderful memories that will be treasured forever by her family - two daughters, Sharrie Davey of Portsmouth, N.H. and Stephanie Welch and husband Sean of Amesbury; the father of her two children, John A. Davey of N.H.; her grandsons, James and Joseph Welch; her sister, Florence Guile and husband Ray of Exeter, N.H., along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Raymond Merrill, Jr. She could not have loved them any more than she did - they were truly her life’s inspiration.
Visiting hours at the Highland Chapel of Paul C.
