Sandra Jean (Sanborn)'s Story
Sandra J. Parker, age 69, died following a long battle with cancer on December 29, at the home of her brother surrounded by her loving family.
Born, raised and educated in Merrimac, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Lottie Sanborn.
She worked for many years at Towle Silver in Newburyport, before relocating to Florida and then North Carolina. Sandy was a great animal lover and had a pet parrot, Kelly, for 35 years, and her love for dogs knew no bounds. Cheyenne, her dog, was at her side until the end.
Sandy was predeceased by her husband of 20 years, Ralph Parker, whom she always said was also her best friend. Then she moved back to North Carolina to be near Ralph’s family and lived there for the next 16 years.
Sandy is survived by her daughter, Monica and husband, Edward Pudlak; grandchildren, Natalia and Connor of Florida; brothers, Albert and wife, Barbara Sanborn of Merrimac and Kenny Sanborn of San Diego, Calif.; as well as many nieces and nephews. Sandy was predeceased by her siblings, Paul Sanborn, Louise Drouin and Pauline Belinsky.
The family would like to extend a special thank you for all the loving care from her relatives and friends from Fayetteville, North Carolina.
There will be no calling hours and a private graveside service will take place in the spring. Arrangements are by Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 36 West Main Street, Merrimac.
