Robert V. "Bobby"'s Story
Robert Vincent Serwon, 57, died Tuesday evening January 10, 2017, at Mass General Hospital in Boston. He was born in Newburyport on September 2, 1959, to Frank W. and Dorothy (Stevens) Serwon. He was raised and educated in Newburyport, graduating from Newburyport High School, Class of 1977. Bobby was an accomplished athlete in his high school years, playing football, hockey and baseball. During his senior year he was named Captain of the Baseball team and pitched 27 consecutive scoreless innings, a NHS School Record. He was also chosen as All-Cal Division 2 EMass MVP. Bobby was inducted to the Newburyport High School Wall of Fame in 2006.
Bobby, like his father, was a huge fan of Notre Dame Football.
In addition to his parents, Bobby is survived by his siblings, Stephen Serwon and his wife, Diane of Seabrook, and Barbara Comora and her husband, Mike of Amesbury; nephews, Michael Comora Jr., and his wife, Sarah, and Stephen Serwon Jr., and his fiancé, Stephanie; as well as several great-nieces and nephews. Bobby was a kind and caring person and will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
At the request of Bobby’s family services and burial will be private. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home, 193 High St., Newburyport, MA 01950, is assisting Robert’s family with his funeral arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Robert’s name to the Newburyport All Sports Boosters, 241 High St., Newburyport, MA 01950.
