Robert J.'s Story
Robert J. O’Handley, 91, passed away peacefully, Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Edgewood Retirement Community in North Andover, following a brief illness. He leaves his wife of 62 years, Gertrude (Murphy) O’Handley; his daughter, Ann Stott and her husband Jeffrey, his son, Robert T. O’Handley and his wife, Carolyn, and his grandchildren, Caleb Stott, Quintan Stott, and Breanah O’Handley.
Robert was a former resident of Arlington, Manchester-by-the-Sea, and Newburyport.
He was born in Jamaica Plain on December 25, 1925. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and the Korean War. He is a graduate of Bentley University and Suffolk University. Robert was employed by the U.S. Federal Government - Internal Revenue Service for 25 years.
Family and friends are invited to Robert’s Funeral Mass at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, November 14, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Church in Newburyport, followed by burial at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Manchester-by-the-Sea. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950, is assisting Mr. O’Handley’s family with his funeral arrangements.
