Rita M.'s Story
Rita M. Boucher, age 85, of Amesbury, passed away January 11, 2017 at the Anna Jacques Hospital in Newburyport with her family at her side. She was the daughter of Antoine and Cora (Godaire) Samson; the sister of the late Leo, George and Doris Samson.
Rita was a lifetime resident of Amesbury. Rita was predeceased by her husband Paul A. Boucher who passed away on March 22, 2006. She graduated from Holy Name in Worcester and started her career working at J.S. Prunier and Sons of Worcester, MA for 11 years. She was employed as a bank teller at the Franco American Credit Union in Amesbury, and worked for many years as a bookkeeper and secretary throughout her working career.
She is survived by three sons, Raymond, David and his wife Debra of Amesbury, and Donald of Lowell; one daughter, Pauline Perreault and husband Daniel of Merrimac; a twin sister, Ruth LaPorte of North Brookfield; five grandchildren, Jeffey, Matthew, Christine Perreault and Jared and Edward Flannigan III and two great-grandsons, Jesse and Gabriel Perreault and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, January 17th at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Family Parish, 9 Sparhawk St., Amesbury. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetary, 12 Haverhill Rd, Amesbury. Calling hours will be at E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home 118 Friend St., Amesbury, MA 01913 on Monday, January 16, from 4 to 7 p.m.
