Patricia (Jackson) Lavery, 78, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 30, 2016, at Sanctuary Care in Rye, N.H. Born to the late Dorothy (Willand) and John Jackson in Albany, she was raised in Fonda, N.Y., and attended the Fonda-Foutonville schools, then went on to graduate from St. Lawrence University and earn her Master's Degree from Oneonta State College.
Pat moved to Byfield, Mass., and spent 30 years as a beloved kindergarten teacher and assistant principal in West Newbury, Mass. After retiring and moving to Exeter, N.H., Pat started a new venture with her daughter, opening the Country Club for kids in Fremont, NH. Pat also taught piano lessons to many students each year.
Pat was the proud mother of two children, Kirsten "Kristy" Butler and Kurt Lavery. She was a special "Mimi" to Makayla, Jared and Troy Butler and Olivia and Jack Lavery; and an adored mother-in-law to Richard Butler. She also leaves behind a step-son, Bud Lavery; two nieces, Meredith (Jackson) Fancher and Tricia (Jackson) Javarone; a former sister-in-law, Marylou Warnick; her Willand/Calhoun cousins; many special friends; and her "Loonies." She was predeceased by her brother, Allen Jackson and her nephew, Stephen Jackson.
Pat enjoyed golfing, traveling, dining, and staying active. She was a member of Exeter Country Club, Exeter Congregational Church and bell choir, and the Marshall Farms Condo Association. Her kind ways,"life of the party" spirit, and fashionista style have ensured that those that have known and loved her will never forget her.
Visiting hours will be Thursday, October 6, 2016, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter. A celebration of her life will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral Home.
