Text size

Marjorie “Marge” Renaud Jenkins of Salisbury, N.C. formerly of Salisbury, Mass., passed peacefully on Sept. 7, 2016 from complications of multiple myeloma. She was the beloved wife of Stuart Jenkins for 61 years. She was a loving mother to her three children, Dawn, Dale, and Dana and their spouses Henry, Karen and DeeDee. A wonderful “Nanny” to her grandchildren Jennifer, Matthew, Kelly, and Bailey, and her great-granddaughter, Che. She was predeceased by her brothers, Leon Jr. Renaud and Donald Renaud. She is survived by her sisters, Elaine and Carol, and her brother, Richard, along with several nieces and nephews.
Marjorie was born August 25th, 1933 in Haverhill to the late Leon and Gladys (Smith) Renaud. She was a graduate of Lynn Classical High and Burdett College. She was a bookkeeper for several years before becoming a full-time mother and homemaker. Family members recall many happy family gatherings that she hosted.
For 37 years she summered with family at Plum Island. She enjoyed trips to The Boardwalk in Newburyport, one of her favorite places to visit. She loved card games and Scrabble with family and friends. She had pleasant memories of family trips and cruises including Alaska and Bermuda, where she vacationed multiple times.
In 1974 she was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and was an active and supportive member of the local congregation, first in Amesbury, and for the last 26 years in Salisbury, N.C.
She will be remembered by all who knew her for her generosity, thoughtfulness, and joy in talking with others about the Bible and God’s promises for the future.
A memorial talk is planned for September 24, at 2 p. m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 179 Storey Ave., Newburyport.
