Lieutenant Commander (Ret.) Darold P.'s Story
Lieutenant Commander (Ret.) Darold P. Greene, 78, died Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at the Springside Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after complications of Alzheimer’s Disease.
Darold is survived by his wife, Mary Greene of Pittsfield, their three children, Laurie Ann Shuttleworth and her husband Steve of North Adams, and Paula Marie Kostyun and her husband, Michael of Pittsfield, and Eric Price Greene and his soulmate, Tonya Courtney of Pittsfield, his granddaughter, Emma Rose Kostyun, and his great granddaughter, Isabelle Davis. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Frances Reslewic of Florida, and Kathleen Baker and her husband, Alan of Florida; his brothers-in-law, Harold Tarbox and his wife, Barbara of Connecticut, Robert Rose of N.H., Ron Miller of Colorado, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, by his two sisters, Roberta Miller and Rosemary Power, his sister-in-law, Eleanor Rose and his brother-in-law, Henry Reslewic.
Darold married his wife of 54 years, the former Mary Elizabeth Tarbox, on March 31, 1963 at the Immaculate Conception Church of Newburyport.
Calling hours at the Devanny-Condron Funeral Home will be Saturday, September 9th from 12 to 3 p.m. with Funeral Services with full military honors beginning at 3 p.m. Scattering at sea will be at a later date.
