Jean Frances (Battles)'s Story
Jean Frances (Battles) Eaton, age 78, of Salisbury, died unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday morning, December 7, 2016.
Born in Amesbury on February 16, 1938, she was the daughter of the late James Hazen Battles and Shirley (Giles) Battles and was a graduate of Amesbury Schools. Jean had worked many years and retired from the former Gould Shawmut of Newburyport.
She was fascinated by Astrology, loved to read and listen to all kinds of music, was a marijuana advocate for many years never thinking she’d live to see the day of any kind of legalization and she did, and above all else, loved spending time with her family and friends.
Jean was a very kind soul and a kindred spirit with an even kinder heart and was always doing
something special for those she loved. Her greatest joy came from being a mother, grandmother and a true friend to many.
She is survived by three daughters, Gloria, Patty and Shirlie and two sons, Mike and Chuck Eaton along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and dear, dear friends, including lifelong friends Loretta Souther, Peter Woods and Debra Sabasian. She was predeceased by a son, Ricky; three daughters, Tara , Bonnie and Kerry; a brother, William Battles; and a sister, Gloria LeClair.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date, to honor a life that was dedicated to helping others. Arrangements are by Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury.
