James "Whit"'s Story
James “Whit” Whithed passed related to complications of chronic illness. He is survived by four loving children, Kyri, Melisa, Andrew and Megan; two grandchildren, Ariana Stratos, Baby Boy Whithed-Callahan; and a great-granddaughter, Bella Gazunis. He was predeceased by his parents, Nelson R. and Louise B. Whithed, as well as younger brother, Philip.
More important than how he died, is who he was -- more than a loving father, master canoeist, people and chicken watcher, sharp-witted, photographer, gardener, irreverent, master mechanic and owner of KMA Nippon. He had a great appreciation for the Ipswich River and enjoyed teaching others about the river, and taking his own solitude in the river and its wildlife, flora and fauna. Our words cannot fully describe Whit, as we hear the other's stories and memories.
Those who wish may join us at Foote Brother’s Canoe in Ipswich, Mass., on July 15, 2017, no sooner than 7 p.m., for a memorial.
In lieu of flowers (except daffodils), donations may be made to www.ipswichriver.org in Whit’s name.
