Herbert C.'s Story
Herbie was born on May 10, 1932, in Newburyport, Mass., to George and Grace (Deveber) Little. He was the loving husband for 61 years to the late Annette (Levesque) Little.
He was the amazing father of five, Carl Little and his wife, Shelly (Starks) Little of Olathe, Kan., Annette (Little) Christian and her husband, Jack of Salisbury, Dean Little of Wolfeboro, N.H., George Little and his wife, Lisa (Labbe) Little, and Jean Little-Bruce and her husband and his best friend, Jeff of Amesbury. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; his sister-in-law, Betty Little of Newburyport; and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Ann Levesque of Merrimac.
Herbie served in the Army in the Korean War from 1948 to 1952. He was a heavy machine operator for LaRochelle Construction, Bearse Construction, and retired from Shea Concrete. After retirement, Herbie and Annette relocated to Cabot Vermont where they renovated a one-room school house to call their home. After Annette’s death, Herbie then moved to Hampstead, N.H., where he enjoyed going to the English Muffin every morning for breakfast and conversation. He enjoyed telling jokes and spending time with his family and friends.
Herbie died Saturday morning surrounded by family and friends at his daughter and son-in-law’s home under the loving guidance of Merrimack Valley Hospice. He was predeceased by all of his siblings, Sylvia, George, Sally, Pat and Polly.

Arrangements are under the direction of the E.V. Jutras & sons Funeral Home in Amesbury.
