Helena (Reilly)'s Story
Helena (Reilly) Comunale, of Largo, Fla., passed peacefully Sunday morning, April 30, 2017, at the home of her daughter, surrounded by her loving family. Her daughter, Helena, and husband, Wayne, of Amesbury, had been caring for her in the last stages of her declining health.
Born in New York City, N.Y., August 3, 1923, she was one of five children of the late Francis and Helena (Raftus) Reilly.
Helena’s life was all about her family. She truly loved being a mother, caring for her children, helping with their homework, and just being there for them at all times. Once her grandchildren were born, her life became filled with added joy, excitement and endless love.
Helena was a crossword puzzle enthusiast, often times engaging her family in the fun of completing a puzzle. She also loved her dog, Molly, who was spoiled, pampered, loved by everyone, and very much a member of the family.
The wonderful memories of her life will always be treasured by her daughter, Helena Gaudreau and husband Wayne of Amesbury; her son, George Comunale and wife Patricia of Largo, Fla.; her grandchildren, Helena, Josh, Luke, Frank, Ian and Kaitlin, along with her nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. In addition to her beloved husband of 52 years, George Comunale, who died in 2001, she was predeceased by her three brothers, Robert, Francis and Patrick Reilly and her sister, Alice Morrison.
