Gloria M. (Blouin)'s Story
Gloria M. (Blouin) Hart, age 91, longtime Merrimac and Amesbury resident, passed away at her home on Lake Attitash, Sunday evening, August 28, 2016, with her loving family by her side with the exceptional support of Merrimack Valley Hospice. She was the caring, loving and devoted wife of 63 years to the late Edward J. Hart.
Born in Lynn, Mass., April 10, 1925, daughter of the late Albert J. and Leona (Timmons) Blouin, she graduated from Amesbury High School with the Class of 1944. Until recently, she experienced the joy of attending monthly class meetings/reunions with former classmates. For many years Gloria was a well known and well liked employee of the former Northeast National Bank in Amesbury.
Gloria was always a beacon of positive will and hope. She had a compassion for others with unquestionable sincerity and genuine kindness. Her undeniable energy, positive outlook on life, and her dedication to family and friends will forever be remembered by all whose lives she touched. She was an authentic role model who taught by pure example, a true human angel.
Her marriage and devoted companionship to Edward set the standards for generations to come.
She will be deeply missed by her five children, Linda Reifke of Amesbury, Gail Hart of Harpswell, Maine, Edward J. Hart, Jr. and his wife, Julie, of Merrimac, Susan Hart Miner of West Warwick, R.I., and James J. Hart of Kingston, N.H. She left an everlasting impact on eleven grandchildren, Rick, Jaremy, Andrew, Patrick, Christina, Greg, Wade, Ben, Kelli, Sarah and Tommy; nine great-grandchildren, Lilah, Ella, Luke, Deon, Chase, Trinity, Reid, Cam and Darby; several generations of nieces and nephews, numerous dear friends and her devoted pet, companion, best friend, Toby. Gloria was predeceased by her sister, Muriel Perrault and son-in-law, Richard W. Reifke Jr.
Calling hours will be Thursday, September 1, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury. Funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with burial in the Locust Grove Cemetery, Merrimac.
