Germaine A.'s Story
Germaine A. Valley, a lifelong Amesbury resident, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2016. She was born in Amesbury on January 14, 1928, daughter of the late Wilfred and Eva (Chabot) Sevigny. She was the wife of the late William E. Valley who passed away in 2010.
For many years, she had worked at a few of the local shoe shops such as Striderite and Louis Shoe. She was also a longtime member of Holy Family Parish. She enjoyed crochet and made many afghans over the years for friends and family. She enjoyed reading and loved New England sports, especially the Red Sox. She also followed the Bruins and Celtics. But mostly, she was devoted to her family and she will be missed by them.
She is survived by her son, Maurice Valley of Boston, MA., her daughter, Jeannine Drew of Seabrook, NH., her grandchildren, Liza, William, Eva, Andrea, Alison, Corey, Steven, Carrie, and Scott, her great-grandchildren, Eliaja, Isabella, Viviana, Alivia, Bianca, Sophia, Joshua, and Emily, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her children, Edward, Paul, and George Valley and Louise Leham. and her late siblings, Raymond Sevigny, Cecile Bedford, Violette Sevigny and Grace Laskiewicz.
Calling hours for Germaine will be held this Monday Sept. 12 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home, 118 Friend St., Amesbury followed by a service at 7 p.m. Burial will be at a later date.
