Frances M.'s Story
Frances Maria Creeden, 69, of Hampton, N.H., peacefully passed away on March 23, 2017, at the Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover, N.H., with her life partner and spouse, John Libby, by her side.
Born in Newburyport, Mass., on January 12, 1948, she was the daughter of John Creeden and Maria (Economos) Creeden. Fran was a member of the 1967, Class of Newburyport High School.
Fran resided in Hampton for 36 years and was employed at the Ski Shed in Hampton, N.H., later as Manager of Eurosport in Kittery, Maine, and as Administrative Assistant at Dino International Furs in North Hampton, N.H.
Fran was married for almost 32 years to John Libby with whom she enjoyed travel and adventure. Together, they visited Australia, Tahiti, Venezuela, the Caribbean, Italy and the south of France. Fran also enjoyed lobster in all of its prepared forms, whether boiled, steamed, baked or broiled (with butter).
Fran was a very kind, sweet, sensitive and thoughtful person and a true and loyal friend to all who knew her. Fran never forgot a friend’s birthday or special event. She will be deeply missed.
Fran is survived by her life partner, John Libby; her mother, Maria of Amesbury, Mass.; sister, Georgia of Hampton and Macau, China; and nephew, Jeffrey of Asheville, N.C. She was predeceased by her father, John, and brother, James.
A private event will be held at a later date.
