Elvira T. "Vera"'s Story
Elvira T. “Vera” Scaparotti, age 92, of Swampscott, died Thursday, January 12, 2017, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Dominic “Dom” Scaparotti.
Born in Salem on July 6, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Emidio and Emilia (Cornacchia) Ciafardoni. She was raised in Revere and Lynn and lived in Salem for 36 years before moving to Swampscott 10 years ago. Vera was educated in Salem schools and worked as a stitcher. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church in Lynn where she was a member of the Lady’s Sodality. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends, movie, watching television and traveling.
Vera is survived by her two sons, Michael Scaparotti and his wife, Elizabeth of Amesbury, and Richard Scaparotti and his wife, Colleen of Peabody; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Evandro Ciafardoni, Gilda Mylott, Sylvia Gilberti and Helen Fish.
Her funeral will be held in the Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn, on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
