Elizabeth "Betty"'s Story
Elizabeth "Betty" (Lynch) Ventura passed away peacefully on February 11, 2017 in Newburyport surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Washington Heights, New York City on December 11, 1933 to the late Coleman and Mary (Pierce) Lynch.
Betty retired from Northern Essex Community College after 20 years of service in 2006. She was also involved in volunteering for Yankee Homecoming, The Salvation Army and many other organizations.
Betty had a great sense of humor and loved to spend time with her family.
Betty was predeceased by her husband of 56 years Frank Ventura who passed away July 17, 2016, her brothers Raymond, Thomas and Coleman and her sister Ann.
She leaves behind her children, Michael and his wife, Tracy Ventura of Penacook, N.H.; daughter, Elaine Ventura, of Hooksett, N.H.; daughter, Elizabeth and her husband Orlando Colón, of Tampa, Fla., Daniel and his wife, Deidre Ventura of Newburyport and Paul and his wife, Leigh Ventura of Winchester. She leaves her grandchildren, Kelsey Ventura, Allyson Shorey and husband Steve, Danny Ventura, Nicole Ventura, Drew Ventura, Sophia Ventura and Lucca Ventura and her first great-grandchild on the way.
Betty is also survived by her sister, Theresa Paladino, sister in law and brother-in-law, Rudy and Helen DelCuore and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Raymond and Carol Ventura all of New York along with many nieces, nephews and cousins and friends.
Family and friends are invited to Betty’s Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 17, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Church in Newburyport. Burial will be private at a later date. The Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950 is assisting Mrs. Ventura’s family with her funeral arrangements.
