Eleanor Marie (Dolan)'s Story
Eleanor Marie Norton (Dolan), 76, passed away in Haverhill, Massachusetts surrounded by her children on November 25, 2016. Born in Boston on July 5, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Alton W. Dolan and Helen (Sullivan) Dolan. She also shared a special relationship with her late aunt, Catherine A. Sullivan, who also raised her. After residing in Brockton, she moved to the Merrimac and Amesbury area before her health declined. Her greatest joys in life came from her three children and four grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Leo P. Norton, his wife, Meredith and their sons, Connor and Daniel of Amesbury; her daughter, Ellen M. Norton of Amesbury and her daughter, Joan L. Mastro, her husband, John and their children, Joseph and Jacqueline of Methuen. She was the sister of John Alton Dolan of Westport, Massachusetts and Naples, Florida and the late William F. Dolan of Boston. Eleanor was very fond of the Old Colony YMCA and Camp Yomechas in Middleboro, Mass., for providing her children a place to learn and grow.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 1, 2016, at 11:30 a.m. at the Holy Cross Cemetery, 175 Broadway, Malden, MA. There will be no visiting hours. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory be made to Camp Yomechas, c/o Old Colony YMCA, 320 Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301. Arrangements are by Paul C. Rogers Family funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury.
