Dorothy E. (Tobin)'s Story
Dorothy E. (Tobin) Liberty, age 73, of Amesbury, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Saturday afternoon, May 6, 2017.
Born in Boston, November 23, 1943, she was one of five children of the late John and Dorothea (Denvir) Tobin and was a graduate of Perley High School in Georgetown, Mass.
For many years, Dorothy worked at the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Mental Health.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, always looking out for the best interest of her family. She was especially proud of her three grandchildren, with whom she shared her love of reading.
Dorothy leaves behind her son, John Lally and wife, Kellie of Atkinson, N.H.; her daughter, Ann Liberty of Amesbury; her three grandchildren, Steven, Julie and Richard; her brother, John Tobin and wife, Evelyn of Methuen; her three sisters, Phyllis Tobin McEvoy of New York, Kathryn Tobin and Leslie Tobin, both of Amesbury; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and dear friends. They all held a very special place in her heart.
By request of the family, services are private and there will be no visiting hours. Donations in her memory may be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack Street, Lawrence, MA 01843. Arrangements are by Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury.
