Claire L. (Ives)'s Story
Claire Louise (Ives) Champoux, age 83, of Newburyport, died Wednesday evening, June 28, 2017, at Country Center in Newburyport.
Born in Tewksbury, on June 28, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Hazel F. (Ives) Perkins and step-daughter of the late Henry Perkins.
A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, dearest sister and aunt, her devotion to family was the most fulfilling part of her life. And her greatest joy was the love she received from them throughout her life. At the end of a long day, she enjoyed an occasional glass of
wine, kept her mind sharp with the endless crossword puzzles she looked forward to completing, and was an avid patriots fan.
She is survived by four daughters, Sandra Beal of Pensicola, Fla., Karan Champoux of Key West, Fla., Cynthia DiTucci and husband James of East Kingston, N.H., Claire Beaupre and husband, Fran of Amesbury, 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; three brothers,George Curtis and wife Barbara, Frank Curtis and wife Betty Ann, Dana Curtis and wife Patty, all of Amesbury; two sisters, Nancy Warner of Goose Creek, S.C. and Brenda Jones and husband, Donald of Newburyport, along with several generations of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her ex-husband, Edward J. Champoux Sr.; son, Edward J. Champoux Jr. and three sisters, Althea Leonard, Raylene Janes and Joanne Beard.
Visiting hours at the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, will be Wednesday, July 5, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. immediately followed by funeral services at the funeral home with burial in Union Cemetery, Amesbury.
