Aime J.'s Story
Aime Lizotte, 87, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017, at his home at Benchmark at Haverhill Crossings, Haverhill, MA. Aime was the husband of the late Lucille Roy Lizotte, who passed in 2000. He was the son of the late Alphonse and Florence Gagne Lizotte. He was also predeceased by two sisters, Aline Lizotte and Jacqueline Lizotte Blanchette.
Born in Amesbury, Mass., January 4, 1930, Aime was raised in Lewiston, Maine. He served in the the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a very proud veteran. He returned to Amesbury, married and raised his family there. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed camping and family cookouts. Aime was a tool and dye maker for many years until his retirement. He was a 4th degree Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #250 of Holy Family Parish. He also served many years as a volunteer fire fighter for the town of Amesbury.
He is survived by his three children, Carole Lizotte Smart and her husband, Charles of Newmarket, N.H., Aline Lizotte Vedrani and her husband, Carl of Amesbury, Mass., and David Lizotte and his wife, Barbara of Hampton Falls, N.H. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Jared Smart, Benjamin Smart, Keith Vedrani, Mark Vedrani, Krista Vedrani Bifano and Joshua Lizotte, along with their families, including 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Florette Lizotte Morin of Lewiston, Maine and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will take place on Tuesday, May 16 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home, 118 Friend St., Amesbury, followed by an 11 a.m. Funeral Mass at the Holy Family Parish Church, 2 School St., Amesbury, MA. Burial with military honors will follow in the St. Joseph's Cemetery in Amesbury. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the 1st Lt.
