SALISBURY, MA - William Wade Mudge, age 67, longtime Salisbury resident, died at his home on Sunday evening, January 21, 2018, with his family at his side, after a courageous struggle with cancer.
Born in Amesbury, May 1, 1950, William was the son of the late Bertram R. and Mary (Leslie) Mudge, and was a graduate of Newburyport High School. For many years he worked as a foreman at Johnson Lumber Company in Salisbury.
He loved bike riding, ice fishing, Revolutionary War reenactments, and in general, was a life-long outdoors enthusiast, a passion that he freely shared with his family, especially all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his devoted wife, Barbara (Lamb) Mudge, of Salisbury, he is survived by children, Melissa Kubik, and husband, Lawrence, of Hampton, N.H., George Bruneau, and wife, Sandra, Candice Colby, John Bruneau, and wife, LeeAnn, all of Salisbury, Victoria MacLaughlin, and husband, Brian, of Raymond, N.H., and Matthew Bruneau, and wife, Kitriana, of Peabody, Aimee Bruneau, and significant other, George Staples, Jr., of Seabrook, N.H., Mary Sadowski, and husband, Thomas, of Newmarket, N.H.; 13 grandchildren, Adam Kubik, Ashley Kubik, Avery Kubik, George Bruneau, III, Carrie Lynn Harding, Alana Colby, Zachary Colby, Jackson Bruneau, Clay Bruneau, Brian MacLaughlin, Jr., Patrick MacLaughlin, Asa Knowles V, Jacob Sadowski; eight great-grandchildren, Jason Gray, Damon Harding, Tate Harding, Abel William Wade Harding, Logan Colby, Grant Colby, Stasia Staples, Lacey Staples; a sister, Celia Stevens, of Baltimore, Md., along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. He will be missed by them all. The precious gift of his life, with all its magical moments, will never be forgotten.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the family homestead, 25 Elm Street, Salisbury, Saturday, February 10, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider making a donation in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
