Truman L.'s Story
Truman L. Wile, age 67, passed away Saturday, June 17, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Truman is survived by his wife of 39 years, Rose (Krager) Wile, and his two daughters, Erin Wile, and Taylor Wile. He also leaves behind two grandsons, Tyler Wile, and Danny Lambert; along with two godchildren, Craig Berard and Kristen Courtemanche.
He also leaves his sisters, Jackie Wile of North Carolina and Judy Wile of New Hampshire; along with his brother, Neil Wile of Amesbury, and several nieces and nephews.
Truman served with distinction in combat in Vietnam. He was severely wounded during ground combat operations for which he received the Purple Heart.
Services will be held this Saturday, June 24, at the Highland Street Chapel of Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury. Visiting hours will be from 10 to 11:45 a.m. with services at 12 Noon, followed by burial at Old Hill Cemetery, Newburyport.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Truman Wile may be made to the Massachusetts General Hospital in support of lung cancer research.
