Theresa E.'s Story
Theresa E. (Cook) Ferriera Doane, 100, of Newburyport, formerly of Salisbury, died Friday, March 17, 2017 at Country Center for Health & Rehabilitation in Newburyport.
She was born August 12, 1916 in Kennebunkport, Maine, a daughter of the late George H. and Edna (Wildes) Cook.
Theresa was employed as a clerk at the former First National Supermarket in Newburyport and for the former Christine Shoe in Salisbury. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, going out to breakfast with family and watching NASCAR racing. She loved just being nana and great-nana.
She lived in Salisbury, Seabrook and Nova Scotia, Canada.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Anthony Ferriera in 1971 and her second husband Frederick Doane in 1976.
She leaves four children, Caroline Welsh, Mary Fowler and her husband, Clarence, all of Seabrook, N.H., Frances Sheehan and her husband Kenneth of Salisbury and Anthony Ferriera and his wife Lynn of Tyngsborough, 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren.
A visiting hour will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2017 at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, immediately followed by a service at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. Spring burial will be in Long Hill Cemetery, Salisbury. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Family flowers only.
