Thelma E.'s Story
Thelma E. (Clement) Guild, 91, passed away on October 19, 2017 in Durham, N.H.
Born to Elmer and Alice Clement in Haverhill, Thelma was a 1945 graduate of Amesbury High School and a long time resident of South Hampton, N.H. She loved to garden and do yard work and she loved her Boston sports teams. She was often heard yelling at the television when a Red Sox player missed catching a ball. "I could've caught that" she would say. She rarely missed a game and when the Red Sox and Bruins played at the same time, she would watch one on tv, while listening to the other on the radio. Due to failing health, the last 18 months of her life were spent at Brookdale Assisted Living in Durham, where she became a staff and resident favorite. She was always so thrilled that everyone knew her name. She participated in many of the activities and made many friends. Thelma was predeceased by her husband, William.
She is survived by her three children and their families, daughter, Nancy Wurzel, of Exeter, N.H.; son, David and his wife, Susan, of Deerfeld, N.H.; and daughter, Katherine Cresta and her husband, Ralph, of Greenaland NH.; her grandchildren, Patti Ann and Stephanie Zegranis, Jessica Deleault and her husband, Matthew, Kimberly Clemmons and her husband, Ron, Samuel Cresta and his wife, Megan and great-grandchildren, Elise Clemmons, Olivia and Emily Deleault, Ashanti and Nyahmechke Robinson, and Lucas and Drew Crsta, all who loved her and will miss her greatly.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 26, 2017 at South Hampton Cemetery in South Hampton, N.H. at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Thelma's name to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090. Arrangements by E.V Jutras & Sons Funeral Home, Amesbury.
