Ruth R.'s Story
Ruth R. Flanagan, 75, of Seabrook, passed away peacefully with beloved family at her bedside on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Clipper Harbor of Portsmouth.
Ruth was born in Newburyport, on May 24, 1942, a daughter of the late Harold and Ruth (Packer) Heywood. She was raised in Newburyport and had made her home in Newburyport and Salisbury, before her marriage in 1985 to her devoted husband, Robert P. Flanagan. Ruth and Robert relocated to California but returned to New England in 1998 and settled in Seabrook. Her family was her life and she loved them with all her heart.
In addition to Robert, with whom she shared over 32 years of marriage; Ruth is survived by her daughters, Darleen Harper of Waterville Valley, Maine, Holly Whitehouse of Haverhill, Paula Brown of Salisbury, MA and Jacqueline Chase of Augusta, Maine. She also leaves her siblings, Charlotte Eaton and her husband Sam, Margaret Pillon and her husband Robert, Gloria Warcewitz, June Bragdon and her husband, Stephan, Sally Patrick, Joanne Yoho and her husband, Robert, Nancy Heywood, Cindy Earl and her husband, Leslie, Herbert Heywood, Paul Heywood and his wife, Bonnie and Robin Kane and her husband, Leroy; her grandchildren, David, Donald, Brian, Mark, Brittany and Michael as well as her many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Ruth was predeceased by her daughter, Laurie Gentile, her sisters, Marianne Egnew and Diane Heywood and her brother, Harold Heywood.
Visiting hours will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 26, 2017 in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home – Crematory, 811 Lafayette Rd., Hampton, N.H. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday in the funeral home with burial to follow in the Wildwood Cemetery in Seabrook. Family and friends are respectfully invited.
