SALISBURY, MA - Robert Edward Morrison, age 89, longtime Salisbury resident, passed at the Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport on January 17, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of 62 years of the late Marguerite H. (Cleary) Morrison, who died August 14, 2014.
Born in Lynn on June 22, 1928, he was the son of the late William and Mary (Christian) Morrison and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School. Right after his graduation, he entered the Military, proudly serving during World War II with the United States Army from August 27, 1946 until his honorable discharge on July 15, 1949.
Robert had a lifelong career as an installer with the New England Telephone.
He leaves behind his daughters, and their families, Joanne Bailey and husband Paul, their children, Bobby, Capt., U.S. Army and wife, Kady; Paul Jr., his daughter, Cascity and son Henry; Kimberley Hill and her children, Abby, Mady and Anthony; Maria Parks and Mike Horvath, and their sons, David, Capt. U.S. Army, and wife, Elizabeth Zollner, and Benjamin; and son, Daniel Morrison and wife Barbara, along with his lifelong friend, who was like a son, Wayne Capolupo. The lifetime of special memories shared with each and everyone will forever warm their heart and fill them with abundant pride.
Visiting hours will be Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green Street, Newburyport immediately followed by services at the funeral home at 4 p.m. Private burial will take place at Locust Grove Cemetery this coming Spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Hilton Senior Center, 43 Lafayette Road, Salisbury, MA 01952.
