Billerica MA - Robert J. "Bob" Beland, Age 56, of Billerica, formerly of Amesbury, Mass., died Friday, February 1, 2019, at Lahey Hospital in Burlington.
Born in Methuen, Mass., April 27, 1962, he was the son of the late Robert and Joan (Bruneau) Beland. Bob grew up in Amesbury and was a graduate of Amesbury High School class of 1980.
Bob joined the United States Air Force right out of high school and retired as a Tech Sergeant after 20 years of service. Bob served in Operation Desert Storm 1990-1991. Bob was proud of the Four Degrees he earned through his service.
Bob was always up for a good time and lots of laughs. His favorite place to spend time with family and friends was at his home making his fajitas and famous buffalo wings, playing poker and blackjack, or at Fourth Cliff in Humarock, Mass. where his love of cooking and enjoying a good lobster dinner were a must. A Parrothead follower of Jimmy Buffett he looked forward to his annual Buffett Concert and tailgating fun. His Super Bowl parties were a hit every year, especially when the Patriots were playing. Bob was known for his corny jokes and no one laughed harder than he did when he finished the punch line. His laugh was legendary to all who knew him.
Bob is survived by his wife Gina (Fonseca) of Billerica, her parents Walter and Kathy Hayes of Carver and his step daughters Angela and Lauren and his stepson Joseph. Also survived by his “brothers” Steven (Heather) Roy of Newton, N.H. and Kevin Roy of Amesbury his “sister” Kathy (Michael) Larsen of Merrimac. His “parents” Donald & Claire Roy of Amesbury and “nephews” Derek & Devin Larsen and Neil Roy.

It's really hard to comprehend Bob leaving the party before the keg is dry. Bob and I would spend the day fishing down in Homestead. I know these were special moments for me and I send my condolence on this very moving day. please let me know if there is anything I can do for my brother. He is held in that special place that touches our hearts and such a tremendous lose.
