Patricia Ann (Petralia)'s Story
Patricia Ann (Petralia) Salach, age 74, of Newbury, former longtime Newburyport resident, passed peacefully at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill with her family by her side.
She was the beloved wife of the late Robert S. Salach, who passed January 28, 1997.
Born in Lawrence on July 21, 1942, Patricia was one of four children of the late Salvatore J. and Antoinette (Maciariello) Petralia, Jr. and was a graduate of Lawrence High School, Class of 1959.
For many years she worked as an executive assistant at Mary Immaculate Healthcare Center in Lawrence, as well as the Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport.
She was a woman of great faith and was a longtime member of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Newburyport, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was also a member of Prison Ministries of America and was very active with the Salvation Army in Newburyport.
Her love of God, love of family, love of the ocean, and love of helping others was her life’s commitment, which brought her great joy and much comfort.
She leaves behind her daughter, Robin Lanseigne and husband, Michael of Fremont, N.H.; her granddaughter, Lauren; two sisters and one brother, Elaine Graham and husband, James Jr. of Salem, N.H., Salvatore J. Petralia III and wife, Lynda of Naples, Fla., and Donna Horne and husband, Daniel of Venice, Fla.; along with several generations of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her step-children, Andrew, Jasper and Michael Salach, Susan Houle, Louisa Nichols and Ellen Rosenberg, and their extended families, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, February 3, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, 42 Green Street, Newburyport. At her request, there will be no visiting hours and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers and in honor of her memory, kindly consider making a donation to the Lazarus House, P.O.
