Martha A.'s Story
Martha A. Janvrin, 93, of Danville, formerly of Seabrook and seasonal resident of Glen died Thursday, April 6, 2017.
She was born in Hampton, February 29, 1924 the daughter of the late Clinton and Lena (Hamel) Durant and attended Hampton Academy.
Martha raised her family in Seabrook and enjoyed not only taking care of her own family as well as all of the neighborhood kids. She also enjoyed spending holidays with her large family, loved to go camping and riding with her husband on his motorcycle along the Cabot Trail. Martha was a wonderful cook, a great dancer and loved to sing and listen to music, especially listening to her grandchildren playing guitar.
Family members include four sons, Walter Janvrin, Jr., Richard Janvrin, Sr. and wife, Marianne, Martin Janvrin and wife Melodi all of Seabrook, Steven Janvrin, Sr. and wife Adelaida of Cape Coral, Fla.; four daughters, Nancy Knowles and husband, David of Seabrook, Janice Follansbee and husband, Victor Sr., of Stratham, Andrea Thompson and husband, Joe of Danville, Martha Laskey and husband Alan of Nottingham, 27 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, two brothers, Arthur “Jim” Durant of Hampton, Robert Durant of Hampton Falls, three sisters, Ethel Small of Seabrook, Mildred Cote of Dover, June Chase of Seabrook, many nieces and nephews.
She shared 67 years of marriage with her husband, Walter Janvrin, Sr., who predeceased her in 2008.
She was also predeceased her infant daughter, Maureen, daughter-in-law, Donna; brothers, Russell, Hollis, Walter and Richard Durant and sisters, Gertrude Marston Brown, and Grace Brown.
Visiting hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2017 in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
