Marlene Jones, a long time resident of Amesbury, died Sunday, October 29, at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Marlene was born November 16, 1951, in Miami, Fla. and moved to Tampa, Fla. at a young age where she lived until moving to Amesbury, in 1987. She received her bachelor's degree in business management from Nova University. Marlene retired from Sylvania as an HRIS manager, and went on to work for Phillips until her death.
Marlene was daughter to Rosa M. Long and William R. Lee II. She is survived by her husband Ronald Jones, two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer Tonani, Teuci Tonani, Laura Robinson, Andrew Robinson; sister, Candace Haywood; brother, William R. Lee III; seven granchildren, Dennis Mitchell Jr., Shelby Stubbs, Skylar Mitchell, Lucas Tonani, Mia Tonani, Sienna Tonani and Gabriella Tonani.
Marlene was a die-hard Red Sox and Patriots fan. She enjoyed traveling, eating out, and getting together with friends, but above all she loved her family and lived her entire life for her daughters and grandchildren.
All are welcome to join a service celebrating Marlene's life at St. James Episcopal Church, located at 120 Main St. in Amesbury. Processions will be held on Sunday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m., with the celebration continuing after from 3 to 7 p.m. at the family's home at 63 1/2 Thompson Street, Amesbury. Arrangements are by the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home in Amesbury.
